Since 1993, Switzerland´s Rhätische Bahn has purchased nine modern high performance Ge4/4 III locomotives to pull heavy passenger and freight trains. With a power output of 2400 kW (3200 hp) and a top speed of 100 kph (64 mph), these locos currently are the most advanced narrow gauge locomotives anywhere. This LGB model is just as advanced as the original. Motorized pantographs automatically raise and lower according to the direction of travel. You´ll find automatic directional lights, lighted instrument panels and electronic voltage stabilization. Twin Bühler motors give you the pulling power to handle sharp curves and steep grades. The colorful graphics of this unique loco advertise a Swiss cement company.
