This model is a die-cast metal locomotive and extremely heavy.

Overview
  • Condition: Very good condition, with a few slight bits of flaked paint on handrails and some rust on the axles and some parts of the wheels (see close-up photos).
  • Operational Status: Very good. Tested and runs smoothly in both directions.  This model is fitted with a Phoenix 'Big Sound' 2K2 board, however we've had difficulty getting sound from the model - when power is applied there are some crackles and squeaks, but no proper sound.  We have removed and bench-tested the board with an alternative speaker, etc. but to no effect - it seems like one or more of the components on the board have been damaged.  Other functions (lights, smoke generator) work correctly.  We have left the board in the locomotive to control the other functions, but have used the switch under the left access panel to turn the sound off.
