Kit & Scratch Built 7mm O Gauge LNER Blue Class A4 No.4463 'Sparrowhawk'

Overview

• Condition: Semi scratch built / kit built. Hachette die cast loco body parts from their part work series, resin tender upper body. Simple channel chassis with rigid bearings. A mixture of wheels, Premier coupling and connecting rods, the rest are home made from rails. Simplified valve gear behind valances. 40:1 open gear set with can motor. Trailing axle is simple spring wire and tube.  Spray finished in LNER blue, with etched plates, HMRS numbers and lettering. Spray satin varnish. Detail is a little limited, but the model was built as a layout engine rather than for display.  Navigates 6' radius curves and points well.  We think this model is a stunning example of this class of locomotive, with some very clever construction choices that simplifies the structure while not affecting the visual impact.  Would be a great addition as is, or would be a good candidate for someone who wants to build a scale chassis to fit.
