Sancheng Brass is a Chinese manufacturer specialising in high-quality brass models and accessories for model railways, particularly in the O gauge scale. The company is renowned for producing finely detailed, hand-crafted brass locomotives, rolling stock, and components, often replicating British prototypes. Lionheart Trains has proudly unveiled its brand-new LMS Class 2 2-6-2 tank engine at the Guild O Gauge Wigan Winter Show 2024 — and we’re thrilled to announce that pre-orders are now open at Footplate! Designed by H.G. Ivatt and built between 1946 and 1952, these distinctive “Prairie” locomotives were introduced to replace ageing branch-line engines. Their well-balanced 2-6-2 wheelbase made them ideal for mixed-traffic duties, while Ivatt’s clever engineering touches — including self-cleaning ashpans and smokeboxes — made them a favourite with crews and shed staff alike. After the first ten examples were built by the LMS, British Railways expanded the class to 130 locomotives, allocating them across the London Midland, Southern and Western Regions, where they could be seen hauling both passenger and goods trains right up until 1967. Known for their durable steam and diesel locomotives, rolling stock, and accessories, Aristo-Craft models are prized by collectors and garden railway enthusiasts. We often receive collections featuring items that span across decades, showcasing a variety of conditions and styles. This particular selection highlights some of our more budget-friendly pieces, offering great value while still celebrating the charm of model railways.

Hawthorn Leslie and Company was formed by the merger of the shipbuilder A. Leslie and Company in Hebburn with the locomotive works of R. and W. Hawthorn at St.Peter’s in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1886. The company manufactured locomotives to order for main line companies and later had a number of standard designs including 0-4-0 saddle tanks and fireless locomotives.  In 1937 Robert Stephenson of Darlington amalgamated with the locomotive works at Forth Banks to form Robert Stephenson and Hawthorns Ltd. By this time Hawthorn Leslie had built 2,783 locomotives.  The newly formed Robert Stephenson and Hawthorns became a subsidiary of the Vulcan Foundry in 1943 and Hawthorn’s 137-year connection with Forth Banks ended.  The Dapol model is based on the 0-4-0 saddle tanks built between 1899 and 1924. They were produced in large numbers and continued in a variety of industrial uses (included Iron works, collieries and power stations) until the early to mid 1970’s. Over 10 locomotives have made it into various states of preservation.

Founded by Guy Harrison and Peter Cox in the early 1970s, the company initially focused on producing Dinky Toy replacement parts before expanding into detailed bus kits. They were numbered D400-449, later 50001-50050 under TOPS Accurascale's latest release is now in stock but quantities are strictly limited - once they're gone, they're gone.
