Ratio Plastic Models is a UK-based manufacturer of plastic model kits, primarily focused on railway modelling accessories. They are well known for producing detailed kits in OO gauge (1:76) and N gauge (1:148), suitable for British model railways.

Wrenn Railways, founded in the 1950s in England, was renowned for producing high-quality OO gauge model trains. Gaining prominence in the 1960s after acquiring Hornby Dublo tooling, Wrenn became known for its finely detailed die-cast locomotives. Though production ceased in 1992, Wrenn models remain highly collectible and admired for their craftsmanship and heritage in British model railroading. In every model collection we receive we get some great models that either need finishing, require some TLC or are restoration projects. We take a lot of these to models shows around the country, however we're now bringing them to you online in our own version of 'The Loco Works'.  We will endeavour to describe everything in the product listing about the item but please note, everything in this section is sold as a project, 'Spares or Repair' if you like, so eyes wide open, dive in and see what you can salvage! Sancheng Brass is a Chinese manufacturer specialising in high-quality brass models and accessories for model railways, particularly in the O gauge scale. Pirate Models is a UK-based manufacturer renowned for its high-quality white metal model bus kits, primarily in 1:76 (OO) and 1:87 (HO) scales. Founded by Guy Harrison and Peter Cox in the early 1970s, the company initially focused on producing Dinky Toy replacement parts before expanding into detailed bus kits. Their offerings include a variety of British and American buses, such as the Leyland National, Bristol VRT, and GMC New Look Transit. These kits are celebrated for their precision and the satisfaction of building a model from scratch. In the 1990s, Pirate Models was acquired by John Gay, who continued to produce and distribute these kits. However, with the rise of ready-to-run diecast models and increasing production costs, the availability of Pirate Models kits has diminished. For enthusiasts interested in building detailed model buses, Pirate Models remains a respected name in the hobby, offering a rewarding experience for those seeking to create their own miniature vehicles. Delivered from Vulcan Foundry, Newton-le-Willows, between September 1967 and December 1968, the new 100mph diesel-electrics were developed from EE’s successful DP2 prototype with the intention of speeding up services north of Crewe to complement the accelerated electric timetable on the southern section of the West Coast Main Line. They were numbered D400-449, later 50001-50050 under TOPS Accurascale's latest release is now in stock but quantities are strictly limited - once they're gone, they're gone.

Rapido Trains UK’s model of the Class 44 diesel locomotive represents one of the earliest British Railways mainline diesels, often referred to as the "Peaks" due to their naming after mountain ranges. Built in the 1950s by British Railways at Derby Works, only ten Class 44s were made, and they played a vital transitional role in early diesel traction history. Rapido’s N gauge model captures the Class 44 with stunning accuracy and detail. Hawthorn Leslie and Company was formed by the merger of the shipbuilder A. Leslie and Company in Hebburn with the locomotive works of R. and W. Hawthorn at St.Peter’s in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1886. The company manufactured locomotives to order for main line companies and later had a number of standard designs including 0-4-0 saddle tanks and fireless locomotives.  In 1937 Robert Stephenson of Darlington amalgamated with the locomotive works at Forth Banks to form Robert Stephenson and Hawthorns Ltd. By this time Hawthorn Leslie had built 2,783 locomotives.  The newly formed Robert Stephenson and Hawthorns became a subsidiary of the Vulcan Foundry in 1943 and Hawthorn’s 137-year connection with Forth Banks ended.  The Dapol model is based on the 0-4-0 saddle tanks built between 1899 and 1924. They were produced in large numbers and continued in a variety of industrial uses (included Iron works, collieries and power stations) until the early to mid 1970’s. Over 10 locomotives have made it into various states of preservation.

Aristo-Craft produced high-quality G gauge (1:29 scale, 45mm track) model trains from 1988 until 2013. Known for their durable steam and diesel locomotives, rolling stock, and accessories, Aristo-Craft models are prized by collectors and garden railway enthusiasts.
